Invicta | UFC Champ Amanda Nunes Takes Position With Invicta To Help With Matchmaking, Talent Scouting

Reigning UFC bantamweight queen AmandaNunes has taken on a position with Invicta FightingChampionships athlete development team.

The all-female promotion announced the news on Friday. According toa release, Nunes’ duties will include “assisting with thematchmaking process to create compelling fight cards andidentifying the champions of tomorrow, specifically scouting talentin Brazil and the southeastern United States.”

“I’ve known and worked with Amanda for a long time, going all theway back to our Strikeforce days,” Invicta FC President ShannonKnapp said. “She was already part of the Invicta family, but nowit’s official; now it’s on paper.

“I can’t think of a better ambassador for the sport and ourorganization.”

Nunes will make her first official appearance on Friday as theathletes competing at Invicta FC 27 weigh in and square off. Shewill also be present for Invicta FC 27 on Saturday at the ScottishRite Temple in Kansas City, Mo., for a card headlined by abantamweight clash between SarahKaufman and PannieKianzad .

“I’ve been very fortunate throughout my career to fight for thebest organizations in the world,” said Nunes. “In my new position,I hope to be able to use my experience as a fighter and a championto help groom the next generation. I’m honored to be a part oftheir journey at Invicta.”
