Mma | UFC Applies With NAC To Co-Promote Floyd Mayweather Vs. Conor McGregor Boxing Match

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is looking get a piece of thepromotional aspect of FloydMayweather vs. ConorMcGregor .

The Las Vegas-based promotion has applied with the Nevada AthleticCommission to co-promote the boxing match between Mayweather andMcGregor, according to the NAC’s upcoming agenda . The commission will vote on the matter during its Aug.16 meeting.

According to a report from MMAFighting.com , the UFC would not need a separate license topromote boxing in Nevada but it would have to become a co-promoterin order to pay McGregor, its reigning lightweight champion, forthe fight.

Initially, Mayweather Promotions was listed as the sole promoterfor the boxing superfight. However, TGB Promotions , which promotesPremier Boxing Champions cards, has also applied for a programpermit to co-promote the event.

UFC President Dana White previously stated that the organizationwould not be involved in the promotional aspect of the fight.However, the UFC is hosting McGregor’s media day at the UFCPerformance Institute on Friday, and White was present during allthe stops at the fight’s media tour.

The NAC will also vote on whether to allow Mayweather and McGregorto use eight-ounce gloves instead of the initially agreed upon10-ounce gloves for their fight. Additionally, both Mayweather’sand McGregor’s requests for boxing licenses will be reviewed, andreferees and judges for the fight will be selected.

Mayweather and McGregor will square off at the T-Mobile Arena inLas Vegas on Aug. 26. The fight will be available via pay-per-viewon Showtime.
