Mma | CSAC Overturns Jon Jones’ UFC 214 Triumph Vs. Daniel Cormier To No Contest

The California State Athletic Commission has officially overturned JonJones ‘ UFC 214 victory against DanielCormier to a no contest.

The news comes one day after it was revealed that Jones’ “B” sample came back positive forthe steroid Turinabol. Multiple outlets have confirmed the CSACruling following an initial report from MMAFighting.com’s Marc Raimondi.

The UFC has not issued a public statement regarding the status ofthe light heavyweight title. Cormier entered the bout as thedefending champion.

Jones defeated Cormier via technical knockout 3:01 into the thirdround of their headlining bout at the Honda Center in Anaheim,Calif., on July 29. However, the Jackson-Wink MMA product testedpositive for Turinabol in a urine test administered on July 28after weigh-ins. Even after two positive samples, Jones is stillentitled to a complete adjudication process from USADA, and the UFCcould wait to strip the belt until that ruling is made.

Jones could be facing a four-year suspension as a second-timeoffender. Prior to UFC 200, he tested positive for two estrogenblockers and was pulled from a scheduled rematch with Cormier threedays before the event. He completed his one-year suspension forthat infraction earlier this summer.
