Event | Report: Two Stabbed At New Jersey’s Prudential Center During UFC 169

The two victims were stabbed in the stands before 8 p.m. ET andwere treated at University Hospital, Newark Police Director SamuelDeMaio told NJ.com. According to the report, 36-year-old Lancaster,Pa., native Angel Pereira was arrested and charged with severalcounts of aggravated assault and two weapons offenses.

“We are working with the Newark Police Department on a openinvestigation regarding an incident that took place during UFC169,” a Prudential Center official told Fox Sports . “Our priority is to provide a safe and secureenvironment to ensure that every guests has a world-classexperience. Our thoughts are with those affected by theincident.”

UFC 169, the promotion’s traditional Super Bowl weekend card, sawRenan Barao successfully defend his bantamweight strap againstUrijah Faber in the evening’s main event. Jose Aldo took aunanimous verdict over Ricardo Lamas to retain his featherweightcrown in the co-headliner. The event marked the promotion’s firsttrip to New Jersey since UFC 159, which took place this past Aprilat the same venue.
